I just found an old harddrive with recordings from 10 years ago... Some where from the time I really digged Dream Theater so I dug up some clips for you to listen to.. The guitarsound is easily the worst I've ever heard...

That just sounds like an old school demo recording, I wouldn't say it was THAT horrible.

SM57 into Mackie into Soundblaster. Oh, and no bass. From... late 2001, I think.

Ooh, even better. From when the Pod XT first came out. AVT50H send --> Pod for cab modeling. Still sounds direct. Quality.
