old school bands with full albums for download?

Helstar's Remnants of War is available at their website, not a mp3 download though but an embedded flash player. Pretty good sound quality too!
http://www.helstar.com/ and pick "Media".

Anacrusis' 4 albums: http://www.whack.org/~ken/anacrusis media/anac_Albums_MP3.htm

Many of the "forgotten" 80s bands should follow these bands' suit and just give away that old stuff IMO. I'm talking about albums which are only available as bootlegs anyway so there'd be no financial loss to anyone. Of course a proper re-release on cd would be preferable but that's just not always going to happen and there's too many albums just rotting away that deserve to be heard.

I'm always excited to find old bands posting full albums or a ton of free MP3s on their websites.

So far, I have found these bands to have a lot:

DRI: many MP3s; not full albums, but you can make a killer "mix tape"
http://www.dirtyrottenimbeciles.com/music.htm

Cro-Mags: the entire Age of Quarrel is available
http://www.cromags.com/

Heathen: BOTH first two albums available.

You guys know of any more?

Excellent!!! Thanks for the info - I don't have any to share but I REALLY appreciate the Heathen info.

I do agree - would be cool to have it available for DL. Ever try to stream with dial-up?:zombie: LOL

cool! the anacrusis mp3s didn't really download, but maybe it'll work again for me down the road.

power: cool you dug those.

I should add this to the list. Voivod fan site. album demos for download. pretty cool, just go to demo area:

I'll go ahead and add this one since it's pretty cool. although weird.

Apparently, you can listen to all these classic albums (saved as real audio files). They have a lot of old school stuff. I haven't tried to convert the files to MP3s for use in my player, but the list of albums is quite impressive:

Both Heathen albums are also available for purchase, as well as the last two Anacrusis albums. It worth nevertheless to download the first two since nobody had reissued them :(

if anyone remembers the band love/hate all of their album but 1 can be downloaded from their website

ENJOY you cheap bastards!

Thanks for posting this link! Now I finally found Ice Age´s "General Alert"-demo, though I have to say that the thrashier song "Instant Justice" on their myspace-page (which I found thanks to the link in the demo-review) is even better.

that blog is amazing! I'm havin' a ball listening to those old demos. :kickass:

I have found the motherload my friends, but it doesn't really jive with the premise of this thread (if ya know what I mean). It's thrash related. PM me for more info.
