This thing sounds FREAKIN' amazing for $87. I'm completely blown away. Eighty-seven dollars, and it's f00king crystal clear. Wow. I want to buy a couple more now just to have them, :Spin:. Studio Projects did an amazing job on this mic. I want to record a sample track of me talking and use nothing but compression, no EQ at all....but I don't know what to say, lol!

.....again, just WOW.

So far I've tried it on vocals (killer results), guitar amps (Peavey 5150 combo and Laney GH100T through a Marshall 1960 4x12, also killer results), acoustic guitars (1960s Gibson Hummingbird Custom, old expensive classical, and a Martin, killer results), hand percussion such as: d'jimbe, congas, bongos, and timbales....and so far amazing results on everything. This mic should seriously cost upwards of $600 IMO. I'm just glad I got it for $87, :). If I had a pair, which right now doesn't sound too bad of an idea, I would use them for overheads on drums, but since I only have one I don't want to worry about drums yet. Besides I have two Shure KSM32's for overheads and they do the job just fine....which btw, this mic sounds a lot more open than my KSMs that cost me $900 for the pair. Amazing. Scratch the second B1 idea, now I want a Soundelux U195. Well, back to saving. Mhmm.

Well, it depends on the preamp you run it through too. I'm using a DigiDesign MBox that has Focusrite pres in it. I don't know what you will be using...and even if I knew, if it wasn't the MBox, I couldn't tell you for sure how it will sound going through any other pre. All I do know is that through the MBox, this mic is amazing. I've read a lot of reviews on it though, with most people running it into very different pres than myself and the other reviewers, and all had nothing but good things to say. Also in most cases (I would guess 90% of the reviews) they said that it sounded BETTER than their other condensors that cost upwards of 4x the price of the B1. I'm pretty confident you will be surprised at the results as long as you are running it through a good pre. And if you aren't, feel free to bash me with the mic, :Spin: Good luck btw. :)

My former bass player had a C1 and we used it for everything for a couple of years. Studio Projects pissed everyone off because their mics rivalled many costing 5 times more.

I own a C1 and a B1. I like the C1 much more than the B1 (I use them for vocals and acoustic guitar). I use the B1 mostly doubling guitar tracks and chorusing vocals. If you have a project studio on a budget these mics are a must have.
