On topic: it's interesting to me that the last time I actually remember paying attention to Michael Jackson was when he had that cool video for "Leave me Alone" (1987) and *maybe* I watched the video for "Black and White" (1991) once or twice but since then I honestly can vouche for anything that happened. With all due respect to fans, I cannot fathom how the man sold that many records.

Truth be told & with all due respect to ryckysmo, his music really wasn't very good at all. His style of pop isn't far removed from Jessica Simpson, Britney, Lady Gaga, or any of that other shit that all you lads twitter about with glee. Now with that being said, if you were born after Generation Y Ver.1, then you really can't grasp how huge this man was in popularity. I remember as a young tot, suckling the milk* from my mother's teat, watching MJ touring in front of Kim Jung Il, Kong Jong Ding Dong, Gook Te Tso, and the nip with the grocery bag in Tienamen Square, and simply being awestruck at how he was received.
