"...it's missing!"
Alright, so our One-Act Play advanced from Area last night as the top pick, and I was named best actor at the competition! We actually garnished both best actress and best actor, which is quite unheard of at the Area level. I got best actor when we advanced from district, but that's against schools that were 'so-so' in quality. We're doing a play called "The Cripple of Inishmaan" by Martin Mcdonagh. It's based in Ireland so we all speak with an Irish dialect (big points for a 2A school to be able to pull off). I play Johnnypateenmike, the elderly town gossip, and the critique judge told me to really let loose on the next performance (Johnny's an incredibly hair-trigger character, bouncing between joy and anger extremely quickly). If we make it past regionals, we'll be going to state, so I'm really very excited about this.

CONGRATULATIONS!

also holy shit you are the gorguts wikipedia article writer i was just complaining about!

Gorguts is a technical death metal band from Quebec, Canada. During its existence for a decade, this group has made great change from highly technically to a band which was experimental and challenged the whole genre of death metal. They have garnished respect by critics and fans all over the metal communities

Well, only two plays advanced to state out of six there, and we weren't one of them. We are the alternates. Though, it is comforting to know that people thought it would have been us and another play that actually did advance (not from our town, but people who saw all the plays and students from other plays).

I get to keep my beard until after state (2 more weeks) in case one of the other schools gets in a vehicular homicide accident or is found trafficking heroin.

I'm going to take a picture of my beard and post it, since it's actually longer than the beard from last summer.
