The rumours are true Onslaught are alive & Thrashing. Sy, Nige, Steve & Jim are joined by a new guitarist. A new album is under construction & i'm told by a source close to the band that its a HEAVY MF. Dates on the December X-Mass fest tour are booked (dates / Venues tbc) with Exodus+ 4 others. http://www.metallysee.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=30&catid=34&Itemid=35
A new Onslaught site will be online when the news is officially anounced, i'll post here when i get news updates.

Cool news!

I have The Force, Power from Hell and In Search of Sanity and hope this new album will be along the same lines. As thrash goes they never seemed all that ground breaking but they were one of the better British bands!

I'd be pretty surprised if many people had heard Onslaught on here though...

As for one of the best British Thrash Bands ... what ever happened to Xentrix? I thought they were fantastic.

Last one I liked by them was Kin (Shattered Existence and For Whose Adcantage? were both pretty good) but from what I heard of the last album (Scourge) it was awful and not thrash. They'd changed singer by then so I guess they split.

My favourite English thrash bands Xentrix and Sabbat. Re-animator, Slammer and Cerebral Fix are/were kick ass too. There were actually tons of British thrash bands...

I actually have - was able to snag a white-label copy of their "In Search Of Sanity" cassette when I was in college radio. That's what happens when people don't keep the promotional closet locked. Only thing I remember was they did a cover of "Let There Be Rock" - it's been over a decade since I listened to it.

I wil be at the 013 show I like ONSLAUGHT but I dunno what to expect of the reunion, we'll see, I actually like their "in search of sanity" disc best....

Also appearing will be EXODUS and the might fucking UNLEASHED! now that is teh ebst death metal on the face of this planet IMO!

As far as good British thrash band we of course have XENTRIX, but I must say out of all I prefer SABBAT!

I also have stuff by D.A.M., ACID REIGN and ATOM KRAFT...

Hey Col....u mention there Xentrix....ommfg....they were the shiznik....I fukin loved their ghotstbusters cover track...that fuking ruled...they played this small ass gig a few miles from me....was fukin blinding....then they played ghostbusters...im sure it caused an earthquake in the town, but noone has been man enuff to admit it....lol

In fact..thinkin bout it....we used to have a rock night at this club in Bmouth....though now its some sort of shitty nightclub....they had shed loads of bands play there....reanimator....xentrix (played a club a few miles down the road twice)....the beyond (bit artsy fartsy....but still good)....nuclear assault (bit bitter about that one, as we were supposed to support them....another story though)....and the mighty hawkwind....goddam i wish i was 17 again :erk:

Hey Paul, their Ghostbusters cover was fantastic. I managed to get a hold of their single release before they were all recalled after a legal battle between record companies over the use of the Ghostbusters logo. Saw them live once and they were awesome live.

Also saw Acid Reign in Belfast. They were a great band at the time. Also found an old re-animator cassette the other day. Life was good, music wise, back then.

Speaking of UK thrash..... Remember Acid Reign?

Their "The Fear" album was wicked (although admittedly ridiculously rushed in the recording). Hadn't listened to it for years until this morning, coincidentally. Damn fast!
I remember Kerrang labelling them "A poor man's Anthrax" way back in the day, but that was due to their silly, onsatge antics rather tahn the music, I assume.

Obnoxious wasn't too bad either!

Never got that one. But i do have the Moshkenstein EP (came with The Fear on a nice little CD package I bought off ebay a few years ago as my vinyl verison warped like a bitch and became unplayable)

I'm really pleased Onslaught are reforming, being a Bristol boy and all that it'll be cool to see my home town boyz again. They are playing the Fleece in Bristol in Nov. All I need now is an Acid Reign reunion, I loved Moshkinstein, people should listen to Obnoxious too, not a bad record. Anybody remember Slammer?? we're they as rubbish as I remember.

Hey Col.....ahhhh....the memories flooding back now.....they were good ol' days.......methinks posters on this thread are showing their age a bit....lol......btw what was the Reanimator cass called.....I have that kicking around in a cupboard somewhere......must dust it off someday

Not sure what the re-animator cassette was now, think I threw it out, but it had a red cover from what I remember. Also just found a Slammer cassette "Nightmare Scenario", must give that a listen, but I'm sure they were probably very good. I didn't buy shite albums in those days when unemployment meant little or no cash to buy the latest releases.

Also, have you seen the price that Xentrix cd's fetch on ebay? I was outbidded four times on "For Whose Advantage", eventually having to spend almost 15 quid before I got it. Remember Bad News, the funny piss take band with Rik Mayall? Original albums/cd's, before they re-issued it last year were fetching more than 40 quid on ebay. Crazy. I went through a phase of buying old lp's and cassettes last year and picked up a LOT of cd's for absolutely nothing, paying more for postage than I did for the disk. Then went looking old thrash stuff; Xentrix, Meliah Rage and a few others, and the prices I had to bid were more than the latest releases.

Hey Col...spend no more...theyve re-released the whole of the comic strip on dvd.......its got all the films theyve ever done....bad news tour....and the reunion one...plus Mr Jolly Lives Next Door....YOU MUST SEE IT...funniest thing ever put out on telly...runs about £35 on play.com......u gotta get it mate

Mr Jolly Lives Next Door was probably the funniest thing to be put on film....think Bottom and the Young Ones put on film....lots of violence...lots of swearing...lots of drinkin...u get the picture...oh and theyve got to murder Nicholas Parsons...best film EVER imho
