British thrashers ONSLAUGHT are releasing through AFM records in USA and Europe and Universal in Japan, their fifth studio album entitled Sounds Of Violence, in three different formats: CD, limited digipack and vinyl.

The album will be released on the following dates:

January 12 - Japan
January 28 - Europe
February 8 - North America

Guitarist Nige Rockett comments: "It's great to finally be releasing some news from the upcoming new album. We decided on 'The Sound Of Violence' will be the first single from the album, purely because its so fucking raw and angry, its a very immediate song... No frills, no nonsense just pure bludgeoning thrash metal. We have also recorded cover song on the release, complete with two very special Guests. It's been a real long time since we covered another band and thought it would be a cool thing for bonus tracks etc... more info will come soon, very soon! We will be posting some of the news on our Facebook profile so check it out from time to time!"

It's about fucking time! Absolutely shitting myself with anticipation, I just hope the wait it worth it - there's always room for mistakes, but fuck! This is gonna be awesome!

New stuff!

U.K. thrash metal veterans ONSLAUGHT will release a double single, "The Sound of Violence" / "Bomber", on December 17 through AFM Records. The single will include one track from the band's forthcoming fifth album, "Sounds Of Violence", backed with a cover version of the MOTÖRHEAD classic "Bomber".

Commented ONSLAUGHT guitarist Nige Rockett: "We're really stoked to finally be getting some new material out in the public domain. It's been such a long time since the 'Killing Peace' album and this will be a great little sampler for the upcoming album release in early 2011.

"'The Sound Of Violence' track is a cool representation of things to come. It's got a real old-school ONSLAUGHT feel but its very contemporary at the same time... a real angry, no-nonsense thrasher.

"Regarding the 'Bomber' cover: MOTÖRHEAD have always been a huge influence on ONSLAUGHT and our relationship goes back a long long way. So when we decided to have some fun and do a cover song in the studio, this track immediately sprang to mind, especially as it's relative to the theme of the new album. We've given it a pretty aggressive ONSLAUGHT slant and thrashed it up little, but still very much retaining the original identity of the song.

"To make things a little more interesting, we thought we would like to add some very special guests into the mix.... We asked Phil [Campbell; MOTÖRHEAD guitarist] if he would like to come and thrash out with us and play some guitar on the track. The answer was an undoubted 'Yes'...

"Things were sounding pretty cool in rehearsal but just missing that tiny piece of magic / the icing on the cake... Then Phil came in and played that awesome riff in his style and everything just fell right into place... We also had the idea that our friend Tom Angelripper (SODOM) would sound perfect sharing the vocal duties with our own Mr. Keeler.

"We knew Tom was in the studio recording the new SODOM record so the timing was perfect... We sent over the tracks and Tom did the rest. He laid down some great fucking vocals, as you will hear, and it's really added something special to the final result.

"As you can tell, really, I'm buzzing about all this... It's an exciting time to be in ONSLAUGHT right now."

I've known about the Motorhead thing for awhile, since Nige kept teasing me about it at Bloodstock - he only said that they had something in store for me that was 'fuckin' cool' and after nagging him for a hint he only said that if I was a Motorhead fan - which I am - then I'd love it. I actually asked him if he was covering Orgasmatron and he just said 'Nah it's way cooler than that!'

So a massive FUCK YES from me. Onslaught actually toured with Motorhead and Exumer in 1986 so this is what scientists call "real fuckin' neato"

Sadly, I have to agree with Metallicdistort.... As much as I would LOVE to see Onslaught at #1, I really doubt it'll happen.

A few things here:

A. Don't sully my good mood
B. If by a miraculous chance this wins, it'll be fucking awesome and absolutely hilarious
C. If you never try, you'll never know - assumptions are for dickheads
D. Regardless of your stance on the #1 thing, buy the single anyway
E. You're a shitty excuse for a metal fan if you don't and I'll kick you really, really hard in the balls
F. Because I'm the final boss
G. Not you, you horrible wankers
H. Fuck X-Factor
I. Fuck Christmas

I'll make my sister buy it off iTunes. Then she'd have a total of...... A good song on her iPod.

No, because again - assumptions are for dickheads. You're officially a dickhead, because Bruce Campbell just called and said so.

Simon, stop being a massive cunt and just buy the single you cynical sausagemonger.
