ONWARD finally makes it on vinyl!

Pure Steel Records licensed the first 2 Onward releases. “Evermoving” and “Reawaken”, both with the sadly passed away Michael Grant ( Ex-New Eden, Ex-Crescent Shield, ex- Cypher Seer) on vocals will be remastered and re-released on vinyl in summer / early fall 2013 by Pure Steel Records.

Together with mastermind Toby Knapp and the other remaining band members we want to set a small monument to Michael. R.I.P, we’ll never forget you.

"Over a year ago I approached Pure Steel Records about releasing Onward's demo "The Neverending Sun" on vinyl. Pure Steel had a much better idea; releasing Onward's first two albums "Evermoving" and "Reawaken" in limited edition gatefold vinyl, remastered and with completely new artwork. After negotiations began Onward vocalist Michael Grant passed away making these plans take on a more serious level of importance. After a decade since disbanding these re-issues represent the eternal life of music, of Heavy Metal carefully crafted with integrity and the magic of collaboration between those who believe. Many fans who have since discovered Onward's music say "what happened?where did they go? they were so under-rated". Our collaboration with Pure Steel records on the re-release of what many consider "landmark" Heavy Metal albums is proof positive of what Onward conveyed during our years together; "Evermoving Onward!" onto vinyl sounding better than ever - Toby Knapp (guitarist/founding member)

In the course of our LP-Rerelease series (limited to 500 hand-numbered copies), we are now planning to do the first two full-length-albums of ONWARD. The band was created in 2000 in Montana/USA by the later CRESCENT SHIELD-singer Michael Grant (who died in 2012); they played at that time very untrendy classic US/Power Metal with some NWoBHM influences.

At the beginning of 2001 they released their debut album “Evermoving” via Century Media (only as CD). The eight Power-Metal delicacies could definitely convince fans of old genre-classics with their classic and sophisticated double guitar harmonies and epic and abundant song structures. The vocals are majestic and melodious, sometimes in higher pitches; and the peculiar sound makes them stick out of the masses (like some years later their compatriots PHARAOH). The powerful and dynamic production by Denis Gulbey (e.g. JACK STARR, MANILLA ROAD, GOTHIC KNIGHTS) lifts this LP definitely to the top class of their genre. The very detailed cover artwork was made by Ioannis Vassilopoulos, who has worked for FATES WARNING, DREAM THEATRE and DEEP PURPLE.

A true masterpiece for all fans with a taste for genuine traditional Heavy Metal!

The release date of the ONWARD album "Reawaken" on vinyl is April 25th, 2014. The limited vinyl edition consists 250 pieces and Gatefold. The preorder phase will start on April 11th, 2014 in our webshop.

The second album of ONWARD "Reawaken" is available for the first time on vinyl; as usual in noble Gatefold cover and is limited to only 250 pieces. On top of it we remastered the disc and created a completely new artwork.

Just a little bit more than one year after "Evermoving", in 2002, the band released the album "Reawaken” through Century Media Records. Similar to the debut the quartet could then convince straight metalheads with hymns like the title track with a first-class chorus, the successful Loudness cover „Clockwork of Toy“ or the final, into two songs half ballad epic „The Next Of Triumph“. The charismatic and strong vocals of Michael Grant (RIP!) and the magical guitar harmonies are elated on this once more again produced album of any doubts. Power Metal in classical US-Tradition rules here in a total of 54 minutes and no second of boredom arises during the complete album.

Therefore the same acquires for "Reawaken" as for his predecessor: A lost masterpiece that requires multiple of attention.
