Opeth boring?

A few guys (METAL HEADS!) told me that they found Opeth extremely boring... and the horiblle vocals was just too much... and that the songs are way too long...

Sure, to each its own... :/

Horrible vocals ??? Mikael's growling puts most other bands attempts at growling to shame! Opeth was the band that got me to realize that growling vocals can actually be good.

Most of Opeths music is very progressive... how can anyone find progressive music boring? I have the exact opposite problem - after listening to bands like Opeth I find that normal chorus-verse-chorus music just doesn't hold my attention for more than a couple weeks.

Same. The only album i can listen to without becoming repetitive or boring is MAYH.

I find Opeth anything but monotonous. Most of the time I have trouble going back to other bands after listening to them. If you look closely, the Opeth albums do have their 'structures' if that's what you can call them, but still, they are alot more varied than your average 3 minute verse-chorus-verse thing.

Some average verse chorus verse chorus solo chorus stuff is more interesting that black rose immortal. Opeth might have unusual song structures but they changes are predictable in most albums wich just negates any structure things.
