If Opeth was a religion what would it look like?

Perhaps all the songs would be bound into one lyrical book of divine meaning. We'd drink beer instead of wine, and the "Opethism" temple choir would sing in growls, blues, and progressive rock.

If Mikael was a preacher he would be constantly cracking jokes inbetween sermons such as "my mustache is really just made from my pubic hair" (joke he uttered at a concert). Speaking in tongues would consist of rapid head banging intersperced with calm swaying.

Baptism would include activities such as hanging out by a lake with a meloncholy/apathetic/placid affect while singing the hymn "Credence".

What wondrous religious vision of Opethism do you see?

Religion on the whole is not a favorite of mine, however I do find is fascinating how it can take over and control people's lives.

Profound huh?
*Nods* That's why I prefer to separate spirituality from blind religious following.

Yet Opethism could be quite spiritual; as the music which moves you fills your soul with chords, mellotrons, blast beats, and a warm fuzzy feeling that comes from a dark and haunted forest at night amidst the groans of forlorn ghosts.
