Got this yesterday and have been thoroughly enjoying it, but I have a question that you guys may know the answer to.

During the performance, there's a mic'ed Laney combo on Per's immediate right. There are no heads on the cabinet stacks. Are they getting their tone from the combo amp(s?), or is that just to supplement monitoring for Per and the heads are somewhere nice and safe?

I heard they use PODs live, but I think the amps were reamped for the DVD.

Åkerfeldt is using a Boss GT-6 or GT-8, I think. My guess is that the amps or combos are some place behind the stacks, for better isolation when micked. I think Per's combo is for the distorted organ sounds. I also believe they recorded a DI-signal from the guitars to be able to reamp later as well.

I could be wrong, though.

Yeah, after posting I sort of realized that said amp might, by virtue of its proximity to the keyboards, be for the keyboards.
