I DL it 2 days ago. Pretty killer. track 5 sounds like morbid angel for the first few minutes. Sounds more like still life than anything else theyve done

I was in my favorite underground record store and I asked about it and they told me that it was pushed back. They are usually up on that stuff...If it's not true I'd be extremely happy!! Waiting sux!

That's generally been my take on the MP3's. When someone comes up to me and says, "Check this band out..I downloaded this off of the internet" I cringe........ It sounds like shit!

Well.. it depends on the bitrate! When the bitrate is 128 kbs, the sound is really shit! It sounds so flat, and its "killing" the song!
But with a bitrate of 192 kbs or higher its not that bad, though I still prefer cd quality of course.

I see mp3 as a good alternative when u are looking for songs that are hard to get like b-sides, bootlegs etc. Its also very handy to check bands out, but even then I only want 192 kbs or higher

Download it like I did and then buy it the day it comes out! Obviously the CD will have better quality anyway but who cares. Opeth is my favorite extreme metal band and this album is fantastic. My favorite on there is definitely Masters Apprentices. It has already become one of my absolute favorite Opeth songs! Album of the year without question....

I agree with the dudes who say screw paying for it!

1. The more you steal it and not pay for it, the less units
are shifted and maybe if we're lucky Opeth will be dropped
and we'll never hear from them again.

2. The Music can't be that great, they sucked live.

^ unlike w/ the slayer thread, here the officer is completely wrong. Opeth kicked ass live and I cant wait to see them again

Go buy the album. I DL'd it coz it's not out yet. When it is I'll buy it coz the sound quality is way better. Plus w/ units moving in the states, they will return for another tour

Well, I'm not wrong. I saw Opeth 2 times last year
as they opened for Nevermore in SF and SJ.
They had some stupid pschedelic swirly bullshit thing going
on a screen or something and their music just sounded
like a mish-mash of Pink Floyd and Slayer or some crap.
It's my opinion, therefore I'm not wrong. Either you
don't like my opinion or you don't agree and that's just
fine.

Well...if you knew anything about the band they admitedly are not a polished band live. They rarely get together and practice (up until recently). I've got a live bootleg of them and they sound great! But I know what I'm listening to..prog isn't the cleanest style of music anyway..their music is brilliant! If ya don't like prog ya don't like prog...

ALSO...if you don't want people to disagree with you don't go into a thread with a bunch of the band's fans and start saying how they suck...

Just a suggestion...

Do they get their moneys worth that way? You might think
so ,but I don't and some kids don't have much money to
spend on concerts and shirts and stuff so really I think it's
even more fucked up that they really never practiced yet
went on tour and played for the people who could have
expected more or at the very least, ....BETTER.
