Can you give me some names? Tell me the songs too. I guess you guys know many unknow bands that are pretty cool. I don't care about which style they play. If it's something different from tha mass, then it's ok for me.

Interesting criteria!

I don't know exactly what you have and haven't heard, but you could check out this DC Dischord band named Black Eyes. Their self-titled debut came out last year and I thought it was great.

the last couple of albums I got were a Gang of Four best-of (I'd skip it, and get their earlier albums and skip their later stuff, since I only listen to the first 1/3rd of the album), Broken Social Scene's "Bee Hives", and Mogwai's "Rock Action".

Check out Tatsuya Yoshida and Satoko Fujii's Erans album. Highly skilled drummer and a jazz pianist playing some pretty interesting tunes.

Feirstiik is a good song to start with.

I only recommend Devil Doll if you want a good laugh at a "visionary" who, without fail, puts the emphasis on the wrong syllable in EVERY word he sings atop boring melodramatic music.
