Has anyone heard of this band? I know they're from Israel, and they incorporate Hebrew and Arabic sounds to their flavor of doom.

In any case, from what I hear, these guys are "astonishing".

:Spin:

They are good, but I really don't see why people praise them so much. It's basically death/doom with some (very little) Arabic/Middle Eastern sounds thrown in. I own both of their albums, and while they are certainly a worthy addition to a collection, I really don't listen to them much.

OL's long-awaited thrid album, 'Mabool', should be released later this year.

I hear their second album flows a little better than the first?

Is the overall music enhanced through the middle eastern sounds, or do you find yourself indifferent on those pieces?

Yes, if you feel you must get one OL album, go with their second one, 'El Norra Alila'.

The Middle Eastern sounds enhance the music, but those sounds are absent in many of the songs, which bogs the album down, because what you get is My Dying Bride with a better vocalist.

I don't like them.. Got a CD of them for free off a trade. "The Beloved's Cry" and it is not very impressive.. (trades are welcome ;))

Don't judge the band on this album. It's not even a proper album, just the band's demo put to disc. Not essential in the least.

I'm starting with the second one. It's in the shopping cart.

Knowing my luck, Papa Josh will be selling this for $2 after I order it for $10.

"El Norra Whatever" rules. Good choice on getting that.

Yeah the guy who told me to get it is typically quite cynical. So when he tells me that there is a 'must have', he's pretty much on the money. We'll see. I'm sure it will take a few listens just based on how 'exotic' it sounds...

First of all, for some reason, The End shipments are coming through quicker when I select the 'free shipping' option over the $3 priority....weird.

Secondly, I listened to El Norra Alila this morning, and I have to say that after one listen, I'm really impressed. More so because I haven't heard anything this novel before. I need to listen to it properly instead of through my car tweeters. The production sounded so-so....otherwise, yeah this could make for an interesting review.

Holy god damn shit, ENA is balls-out greatness! I think I bought this 2 years ago, listened to it once, and forgot it. I was a jerkoff, cause this is excellent.

So it's like what Piece of Mind was to the fuckin epic Virtual XI?
Sweet. I'll buy it tomorrow or Monday.
