No, they are not metal at all.

They are pretty much an amped up British rock band...some might call it punk, I don't know if I would (maybe hard dance rock?).

Regardless, I think they kick ass. Definitely not worth the hype they do recieve, and definitely not metal, but pretty cool indeed. Sort of like Oasis on crack.

Its catchy for awhile, but forgettable in the sense that it becomes boring very quickly. That makes all the difference.

It makes perfect sense. Bands like N*Sync are catchy, but that doesn't make them good. Just because a song can get stuck in your head doesn't mean you want it there.

That's what I meant. Justin Timberlake's 'Sexy Back' was stuck in my head for awhile, most annoyingly. And I hated that song.

I never considered grouping catchy as hell with those songs that get stuck in my head that I don't care for....
