OT: Just Some Interesting Music Stats: Thoughts?

This is by no means scientific. I put this together based on the music scrobbling service, Last.fm. This service is used word wide. On there, each artist has a page with various statistics. I want to focus on the number of plays and listeners from those pages. I have selected a group of metal artists and non metal artists and let's see how they compare.

It is interesting that Anthrax has the fewest plays and listeners in comparison to the other major metal bands listed. It's also fascinating that newer artists have a significantly larger fan base than these metal artists on this list who have been around for decades. I think this is a pretty good sampling.

Well I think cause those sons of bitches were created and the corporations have to protect their investment by doing lots of publicity. Getting them on shows commercials you name it, there are no joke a lot of people who can't find music on their own and pretty much rely on tv to tell them what's hot That's why when a real band does manage to get air play they blow up say for instance Pantera...and Radio Head?! I've never understood the appeal. The best part of their most famous song ( that little crunch with the guitar) was an accident that the producer made them keep lol
