OT: Metallica's RRHoF induction

That was indeed very awesome!! I loved all the speeches and performances. The best moment for me was the heartfelt hug that James gave Lars after his speech. That really made me smile! :D

What was really funny was how 6'2 Jaymz hoisted that midget Ulrich off his feet.

To my shock Metallica actually did what they should've done at that disgraceful MTV Icon special years ago. At this they actually invited peopel from their past like way back in the early thrash days.People who were actually involved in the scene like Ron Quintana,Harold O. and Brian Lew. Even their original bassist Ron Mcgovney was there. The geusts had their plane tickets paid for and all the free food and booze they could consume. It was a hell of a party I was told.

Did the Jonas Brothers,Pussycat Dolls and other such "Peers" jam with them?
Sorry couldn't resist! When was this?

:lol: you mean sum41, one of the bands that kirk is really into right now didn't introduce them? Was linkin park or limp bizkit there?

With all the great thrash bands out there like Testament, Slayer, Exoxdus, Machine Head, Shadows Fall, Lamb Of God, Cavalera Conspiracy and so on, I really don't understand why people continue to follow this band and put them on such a high pedestal. I am so sick of this band already. Yeah great 20 years ago, in the past 2 decades the best album they have done is Death Magnetic but even that is nothing special.

The latest Testament "Formation of Damnation" blows away anything Metallica has done since And Justice For All and those guys get no credit or recognition.

Did they at least invite Dave Mustaine?

They were on the No Country For Old Men tour last year (H&H, Motorhead, Priest), nothing to gripe about. Testament themselves have said their band is a "hobby" now. Not enough to live on.

I'm hoping the return of Peter Wichers to Soilwork means a return to the asskicking Soilwork of 2003. "Natural Born Chaos" s**ts all over everything Metallica has done for the last 15 years.

And I'm still digging Shadow. I can't believe a girl that tiny can scream like that.

But in fairness... that picture you posted? James said it was his wife's bag, he was holding it for her. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
