Not sure if anyone here is a fan of Seagal movies - I liked them back in the day. Now he's tired, fat, bloated, horribly egotistical, wears a trenchcoat, and his monotone voice has gotten worse with age......but I digress.

Anyways, here's the trailer for his new show which is basically the Fox reality show Cops, with a twist. Steven Seagal is one of the cops. The trailer alone is hysterical:

I've never been a fan really, thought all his movies are quit alike, but it's almost sad to see him acting in a cheap reality show like this, but also quit hilarious.... hehe, reminds me a bit of that Reno 911 stuff...

I like Seagal old movies a lot, he was to me one of the good action heroes along Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Norris, Van Damme, Lundgren. Except for the Governator I think they all left themselves to dim or sunk.

As for reality shows :puke:

I have never cared for Steven Seagal. I agree with Wyvern about reality shows. :puke: Too many reality shows as it is. And too many talk shows...period.

I really liked his first 2 or 3 movies...but once you've seen those, you've seen all of them. He plays the same character in everything basically. Not sure how he ended up a deputy sheriff in Louisiana when he doesn't even live there. All for the show I guess.

Indeed basically that was my point: "Above The Law", "Marked For Death", "Hard To Kill" were like the good ones and then ciao!

He's a better guitarist than he is an actor and a better martial arts expert than he is guitarist. Frankly, I don't see the need to watch another episode of this again. I was listening to Howard Stern and he was praising how funny this show is. It's staged as most of these reality shows are. There's an arrest the cops pile on the subject, use a tazer on him and then Seagal arrives on the scene to lecture them...meh. I'll be more curious to hear an interview with him on The Stern Show which hasn't been booked or talked about but I have a feeling it will.

Yes but Sixx the humorcomes from how unintentional it all is. The fact that Steven takes it so seriously is the comedy and as I've long argued the best comedy almost always comes from a. real life and is b. unintentional.

His "bullet time" vision has to be seen to be believed! Worth the price of admission alone! I call it The Eyes Of Seagal.

*sound effect*
"That guy's got a gun!"

I just finished watching 2 episodes I Tivo'd and they're hysterical. The Seagal Spidey Sense thing (or Bullet time as you call it) is just awesome. I love how real cops do the work, apprehend the subject and Seagal shows up to take all the glory.

Are his movies any good?I have nerver seen any of them.

Depends if you like Martial Arts movies. He's a renowned master in Akido - one of the highest ranking in the world. Thing is, he's a shitty actor. The awesome fight scenes in his early movies like Above the Law and Out For Justice almost make up for the terrible acting. None of this current wire shit for fights either.

For some reason can't recall "Out For Justice", I will have to look for it again...someday :D

Yesterday was "Exit Wounds" on cable, and I was thinking about this thread while watching it partially (I was skipping between channels).
