OT: Watch Them Die

Anyone out there heard of a band out of Oakland called WATCH THEM DIE?

Never heard any of their stuff, but they opened for Exodus last night.
I thought they did very well. May have to get their CD.

Yeah...I'd consider them death metal I guess.

I checked out their website.
They have a song you can hear called "Bastard Son".

It's better than some of the newer bands that I've heard lately.

My nephew got the CD last night.
I went over and got it and I've been listening to it all day.

I really like it.
I'm not into today's bands like Lamb of God and As I Lay Dying etc...I like Slipknot ok....but I could do without most of them.

I wouldn't put Watch Them Die in that category.
He sings similar to them some of the time, but his vocals change up nicely in some of the songs.

Some of it is thrashy, but alot of it contains some pretty heavy riffs! Similar to some of the bands that I used to listen to.

Hard to compare them to anyone. On occassion, I was reminded of Rob Halford's "Fight". Also got a flavor of Iced Earth every now and then.

It's not as good as Exodus, Anthrax, Testament, Overkill, etc.....but I think it's a helluva lot better than some of the crap out there today.

Ah yeah I was in the same boat as you I hadnt heard much of em but I wanted to check em out before the exodus concert they are opening for. How did exodus do by the way? Anyways I picked up the cd it is pretty kickass. They got some badass riffs that actually remind me a lot of suicidal tendencies riffs with yelling vocals, but the changeup with the chick singing on a few parts is really cool. (that is a chick i hope? ha) The show should be badass im a 3inches of blood fan as well as lovin the new exodus cd. Cant wait! Check out Watch Them Die- Onslaught(very old school thrashy, hardcore shit) or Throne of Lies(chick and dude sing in the beginning and its a good song).

"Throne of Lies" kicks ass!
I love the part near the end where the singer and guitarist trade off with that screaming. It blends so well.
The more I hear this CD, the more I like it.
I would recommend.

Sweet pics man! Ha their look even reminds a bit of suicidal tendencies. I cant wait to see these guys, their cd has really grown on me a lot too. First listen I was like thats kinda cool and it just got better as I heard more of it.
