Just curious what people's other hobbies are, beyond disturbing the peace at concerts and blasting your neighbors ears apart with that damn rock n' roll. :)

I am a terminally amateur photographer, most of my pictures are landscapes of deserts and forests.

This is an oasis in the middle of the desert, very interesting since the average temp. is well over 100 *F in Joshua Tree:

Also I'm one of them offroad types, I don't destroy nature, just my vehicles. :D

Old truck:

New truck (even though it's a year older than my "old" one):

@NAD - HarmonyDies just reminded me about Cynic. It's something you'd probably like based on what we were discussing around Swano's Moontower. Do you have Focus?

By the way, great photographs. Might call you up on something site related at some point...

Re: hobbies, I am a father to an 18 month old girl, Chloe. Everything else is kind of on hold, heh. :D But truth be known, I do spend some time on the following (more time on some than others, guess which):

Maintaining Royal Carnage(!)
Writing for Royal Carnage(!)
Horror DVDs - especially of the Japanese kind
Picking up my Fender Acoustic from time to time (used to be an avid player)
Tinkling on the ivories (I have a keyboard and I like to work out movie themes like Conan, Terminator, and Braveheart, hehehe)
I used to play videogames galore, with the Res Evil series being my fave of all time

No, haven't heard any Cynic, might need to check them out though... 70s proggy keyboards I'm guessing? :D

My (somewhat limited) photography skills are at your disposal!

Hey BWD, is that Arseface as your avatar?

Ooooh, you would lurve Cynic. Don't think you'll find many people on this forum who object strongly to that album. Took me a while to get into - you'll probably dig it off the bat.

Why that be tongue zombie from Day of the Dead! :worship:

Sure... As evidenced by my now-playing boxes here on UM lately being filled with everything from Celtic Frost's "Cold Lake" and Nocturnal Rites to Mütiilation and Belketre... :p

At the moment I probably listen to doom more than black metal.

Actually, I've had Cynic for a long time... I have Pestilence too. I listen to a lot of stuff.

Yeah I was just teasing....I MUST get a review done for Testimony of the Ancients.....

....we need more classics on the zine, folks.

I must be the only person who finds Cynic's 'Focus' to be one of the most overrated wank albums ever made.

No doubt the dudes in Cynic have talent, but talent does not automatically a good album make.

I guess i just like more brutality in my death metal (and use that term loosely, as this is barely death metal at all).

Not to mention the fucking Optimus Prime vocals ruin any enjoyment I might have otherwise gotten from Focus.

NAD, if you like technically proficient wank music (think Gordian Knot) with raspy vocals, you might like Focus. Or if you were a big fan The Transformers when you were a kid, you'll probably like it.

I'm not saying it's as bad as Soilwork. I think it just receives so much praise because of the experimentation involved at those times.
