This album is fucking brilliant and features some greats of the dleta blues scene. It's amazing watching people in their late 70's, 80's and 90's playing their hearts out. The blues is where originated rock people. There a guy on here that was with Robert Johnson on the night he died...The history...

Sounds like something I have to check out. I like that kind of thing now and then...

Thanks for the tip buddy. :wave:

I don't listen to a lot of the blues, but I have the utmost respect for the genre, especially those old codgers featured here. Think I'll have to get the DVD of this as it is a monumental event getting them all on one album. Thanks for the mention Sixx!

That might be, but he uses a blues surname....

the only reason i know that is because i used to read guitar magazines every month back in the day when i used to play alot... and one month was a exclusive interview with Johnny... i often wonder if he was telling the truth or just a opportunist riding on Robert Johson's famous name... no one can confirm his story or that he knew Robert.. or any pics of them together that i know of...

I do like some blues now and than... There's a quit big Blues festival in my town every year called "Bugaboos" , I try to be there every year. It's a real relaxed atmosphere there, lots of old rockers like myselve hang around there :)
this year's line-up;
Tommy Castro Band (USA)

Eric Steckel Band (USA)

Reba Russell Band (USA)

Twelve Bar Blues Band (NL)

Tim’s Blues Combo (B)

How about that?! That's cool. I am familar with Tommy Castro...
I might have to look up some of these other artists on the bill...

Well, each year the same here...sometimes I know one or two bands, but the others are a mistery to me. There's also a very big variation in between very early and later blues/rock. 2 years ago there was a French band "Stinky Lou and the Goon Mat", who played very early style of blues, with some self made instruments. They were simply amazing ! after the show they played another 5 houres (!!!!!!!!) in our local blues club ! :headbang:

Thanks for the heads up Sixx! I bought it the very next day after I read this and have been playing the hell out of it since. I haven't watched the DVD yet though. :loco:
