I'd like to say I've been pleasantly surprised by the MXL but not really. However they perform a lot better than the behringer which just plain suck imo. In fact the MXL seem pretty cool until you pay attention to how they make the shells sound peaky and tiny and they have a weird mid range resonance.

SM81 gives the most natural sound in my opinion. MXL is cool but makes cymbals sound more artifical. C2 is C2
