These can be from any genre of metal. Right now, I'm choosing glam/sleaze rock. At the moment, listening to the 2002 release from L.A. Guns, Waking the Dead. There are some really good jams on here, for those old schoolers out there.

Often unfairly lumped into the nu-metal Shite Bin, these purveyors of self-proclaimed "ghetto metal" hit the mark with their debut. Loud, obnoxious, and full of some great riffs and incredibly moody keyboard work, this album kills. I cannot stand rap vocals in metal, but for whatever reason I've always loved MCUD, and his screams sound like his vocal chords are being sawed in half.

anything by saigon kick! very wrongfully labeled a 'hair band', this group recorded a few of the greatest hard rock albums ever... and no one noticed.
