Well I just went to Ozzfest this past thursday and it was pretty good, nowhere near as good as last year's with Maiden was though  . But it was still good, Ozzy was great. This was my 2nd Ozzfest.
But I have to say not even Ozzfest compared to the Iron Maidens show at Studio 7! :headbang:

Did anyone else here attend Ozzfest? or plan to? Ever gone to one before?

This OZ fest had the weakest line up ever!It came near by the bay area yesterday.I didnt go.I've been to 4.My fave was the one with Judas Preist,Slayer & Dimmu Borgir among others.Thatwas prett bad ass to see Peist & Sabbath back to back!

Lately, the only time I see a concert is if I'm there to perform and even then it's more rare than I'd like it to be, thanks to the way things work out and the trials and tribulations of being a girl!!! :erk:  I think I need to stop and smell the roses - or in this case, see the show!!!!

How were the support bands this year, Chris - any other bands you particularly enjoyed?

After what I witnessed last year, I will not be attending Ozzfest ever again.

Sharon had a co-workers squabble and took it out on the paying customers. I don't think they teach you that in Business 101.

You beat me to it Puckfiend. Whatever issues Sharon and the rest of the camp had with Bruce, should have been kept between them, not the paying customers such as us. I was a huge Black Sabbath, and Ozzy fan, and have been to 3 Ozzfests in the past. I will never, ever go again. She ruined our evening to say the least. To sit in that damn heat, pay $100 for a ticket, just to see that bullsh*t is childish.

Support bands this year were alright, i enjoyed seeing Disturbed (2nd time in 6 months!), System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, and Black Label Society. Zakk Wylde is amazing on guitar!!

the BC rich on your sig says it all...

n00b metal bands and zakk wylde is the most overated crap guitar player ever. Listen to steve vai or something.

I paid 50 bucks for my ticket last year, counting gas, t-shirts and food, I must have dumped about $200 all told. While the people watching was pretty damn cool, the lineup last year was indeed rather weak. There needed to be more of a balance between new bands and old, rather than it being a nu-metal fest. Though considering Sharon's track record of alienating bands, I shouldn;t be all that surprised. Maiden was excellent and spot on that night, though Bruce did go on a rant for about two minutes about Ozzfest in general.

I have said it before and it may be a sign of me becoming an old fuddy-duddy, but metal today is severely lacking in style, musicianship and individuality. There are bands that actually have a good concept and are trying to run with it, but those are few and far between. Its that same "stick to the formula" crap that inundates music as a whole every few years. Its sad.

I'm with Puckfiend on this, since we went together for the past two years, donated blood didn't pay for our tickets anyways,BUT I will not go again. This year was hard for me since I LOVE SYSTEM and saw them earlier this year at the Long Beach Arena and they kicked some butt..I still wouldn't go after what happen last year!!!
