According to Deadline, "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour" has been picked up for an eight-episode third season. The unscripted series, from T-Group Productions, moved from History, where it aired its first season, to its A+E Networks sibling A&E, for last year's follow-up. Jack Osbourne announced the upcoming "Detour" season on Facebook. He wrote: "Everyone keeps asking if we're doing a season 3 of World Detour… well guess what today is? Day 1 of season 3 baby!!! Woooohoooo." The show features Ozzy Osbourne and his son Jack traveling the world together, exploring the history behind some of the planet's most storied sites, while checking out some lesser-known locations along the way. The second season of the program saw the self-proclaimed history nerds — who apparently waited years to take this trip — traveling thousands of miles across the country from Florida to Alaska and experiencing everything from unique local attractions to quintessential American pastimes. Whether they were deep sea fishing in Key West, experiencing a NASCAR race in Texas, camping with Jack's daughter in Sedona, dogsledding in Alaska, or traveling with Sharon and the family to Hawaii, Ozzy and Jack approached every adventure with humor, heart, and rock 'n' roll spirit. Ozzy admitted a while back that doing the show has helped fill some gaps in his own knowledge of history. "Anything past World War II, I'm clueless," he told The Pulse Of Radio. "I'm kind of up on World War II 'cause I was born a couple of years after. So I know quite a lot about World War II and Hitler and the Nazis and all that. But anything from before or after I don't know anything about. So we're going to Mount Rushmore, we're going to the abandoned silos where you guys, America used to have their Minutemen missiles and all that. It's quite educational for me, actually." Ozzy had not starred in a regularly scheduled TV series since the MTV reality show "The Osbournes" ended a four-season run in 2005. A variety show called "Osbournes Reloaded" ended after one episode on Fox in 2009. "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour" is produced for A+E Networks by Osbourne Media with T Group Productions. Jack Osbourne and Peter Glowski are executive producers for Osbourne Media. For T Group Productions, Jenny Daly, Rob Lobl and R. Greg Johnston serve as executive producers. Elaine Frontain Bryant, Shelly Tatro and Sean Gottlieb serve as executive producers for A+E Networks. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for "Ozzy & Jack's World Detour". "We are grateful to Ozzy and Jack for allowing us into their lives for an unfiltered look at their relationship while on this exciting journey together," said Elaine Frontain Bryant. "Beyond the highly entertaining road trip adventure, the series' focus on the deep bond between a father and his son offers viewers the personal connection they look for in our programming."
