Question for those who are more familiar with them.

I have only heard bits and pieces of all thier release and I'm not sure on wich CD to purchase or start with. Infinity Divine has probably appealed most to me, being more uptempo and maybe thier heaviest,(is this thier best stuff)?
Any comments on this CD or any of thier other releases - appreciated.

Huge fan.

No, 'Infinity Divine' is not the best or close to it. It has a lot of potential, but just comes off as Fates Warning sped up and without many hooks. You want 'Celestial Entrance' or 'enigmatic : calling', but the comment about heaviness concerns me, while they are certainly heavier than many bands lumped into the "prog" style, 'heaviness' is not the staple of why they're so good...so...

Here's one favorite of mine, 'Supremacy, Our Kind'. Others, if you want to look them up, are 'Through Osiris Eyes', 'Aegean Shores', 'Taken', and 'Atomic Firelight'.

For example although the riff is 'chuggy', it isn't used there just so it can be chuggy or so it can be 'heavy', or for lack of riff ideas since they have a lot of good riffs in many songs. It's just one of many dynamics working together in one part of the song.

Thanks guys.

I did originally get the impression that they have many ways of being heavy and not just by strumming out a loud guitar riff. They are very dynamic as mentioned and thier production is top-notch.

I actually came across PM a couple of years ago after I purchased an Eidolon CD that featured Nils Rue on vocals...only to discover then that he was the voice of PM.

That Eidolon album didn't do anything for me for some reason, but he is definitely a great vocalist.

I need to vouch again for 'Celestial Entrance' as well since noone else has :p ...it's very slightly more solid than 'enigmatic' IMO.. and also talk about 'God's Equation' some.... that one is the least solid out of the three, but about half of it ends up sticking to you and never letting go. So...

I kinda agree. Thought Eidolon was ok...some good moments but overall-nothing special.

Is it safe to say that Infinity Divine is thier least progressive cd...a more straight-forward metal style? This is probably why it appeals most to me. I am not a huge prog-metal fan and it seem the prog-style increased on thier other releases...I could be wrong? Regardless, they seem to be heavier and more powerful than most prog-metal bands...I easily could and probably will get all thier cd's.
