Dino of Tucson, Arizona's Rock 102.1 KFMA radio station recently conducted an interview with PAPA ROACH singer Jacoby Shaddix. You can now listen to the chat at this location. Asked if his sobriety has affected the evolution in PAPA ROACH's songwriting, Jacoby said: "I would say yes and no. I stepped away from drinking and using almost seven years [ago] now. And I think in the very beginning of me trying to figure this out, I was very much a raw nerve and it had a big impact. And now that I'm kind of in a flow, it's not as much of an influencer. Now, there's a confidence in the band that is stronger than ever, I believe. And we're always evolving. This next record [the recently released 'Who Do You Trust?'] is another evolution — a bold evolution, I will say." Shaddix also talked in more detail about the progression in PAPA ROACH's sound, explaining that "Who Do You Trust?" is "intentionally as progressive for us — moving into the future — but then also taking the classic elements of what we believe makes PAPA ROACH great and still hold on to those and keep those in the style of it and not just lose our identity. And this record, though, I will definitely say I think it will take the fans a few listens to understand it," hje said. "And it's not a self-indulgent, off-the-charts type record. We still please the core, but it's, like, be ready, 'cause we stretched it out in some crazy directions and just got nutty on this one." "Who Do You Trust?" was released on January 18 via Eleven Seven. PAPA ROACH will join SHINEDOWN for the 2019 North American leg of that band's "Attention! Attention!" world tour, which also features ASKING ALEXANDRIA. Interview (audio):
