Californian rockers PAPA ROACH will release their eighth studio album "F.E.A.R.", on January 27, 2015 via Eleven Seven Music. The follow-up to 2012's "The Connection" was recorded at Las Vegas' The Hideout Recording Studio, which is owned and operated by Canadian producer Kevin Churko. Churko has previously worked with OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, IN THIS MOMENT and HELLYEAH.PAPA ROACH guitarist Jerry Horton told Bring The Noise about the musical direction of "F.E.A.R.": "We've got a bit of modern heavy stuff and we've got a couple of old things and some dynamic songs. "We went in with the idea of doing a heavy record, but we just can't keep our focus on one thing, we have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) when it comes to that, so we just went where the music took us, and we're really happy with how it came out."Asked what the most positive things are about being within a scene that just keeps on going and churning out music, Horton said: "It's crazy, because rock has kind of gone through cycles of popularity, and a couple of years ago, electronic music just made a huge wave and there was a little bit of worry that rock wasn't going to be as popular as it was, but it's not going anywhere, y'know? We came up in a scene that was called 'nu metal' and a lot of those bands aren't around anymore. It went on into garage rock and then it was emo, but, basically, I think we're definitely fortunate to still be around particularly when a lot of bands have come and gone. But, like I said, we thoroughly enjoy it and that has pretty big role in a band's longevity. We're definitely humbled once in a while and I think that helps things too. Right now we're just setting up a new record and we're just getting out there and working as hard as we can and trying to make as many fans as we can."PAPA ROACH singer Jacoby Shaddix told Kerrang! magazine that "F.E.A.R." is "probably the most positive record we've written," adding, "There's obviously been an element of hope within the despair of the music that we write, and I think that that's always key, and that's very important to what we do, is to always have that element of hope, and that's laced throughout the record." Shaddix described the new album as "all things good PAPA ROACH it's big, banging riffs, it's a very guitar-heavy record . . .
