Paradise Lost

I've always wanted to read the book. It sounds very, very good.

Anyhoo, I just finished Stephen King's The Dark Tower VI: Susannah's Song. Fucking brilliant. The Dark Tower series rivals the Dune series as the greatest Science Fiction saga ever written.

I actually like Draconian Times somewhat. I thought Gothic[i/] was overrated by a ton.

I've never read anything by King.

I've never heard "Gothic," and I have no desire to as "Draconian Times" incouraged me to never want to hear more.

I remember in college, one of my professors encouraged us to read that Milton book. I just remember it being about Lucifer's fall from Heaven, if I'm not mistaken. Sounds great.

Like I said in another thread, King is not a good writer, but I've yet to find a better story-teller. The Dark Tower series is science fiction, not his usual monster tales. Though, It and The Stand are brilliant works.

Gothic and Draconian Times sound like two totally different bands.

Yes, Paradise Lost is about the decline of Lucifer and the fall of man.

It's a bit hard to follow at times though, because Milton doesn't use standard sentence structure, but I HIGHLY recommend it.

I've skimmed bits and pieces of Paradise Lost, it's definitely good stuff. One day I'll sit down and read it I'm sure.

I can't stand Steven King, never made it through one of his novels without getting my ass cheeks bored off my person.

Yeah its one of those books I should read sometime. I dont even like movies inspired by Stephen King's books. My favorite books are Candide and Notes From the Unerground- both profoundly influential, comic, and about mans place in the world.

Dark Tower series > everything else King has ever written
Give the man a cigar, for he speaks the truth! The DT series is on a much higher level from his other works.

Today I got Gustave Doré's book of illustrations for Paradise Lost, he is a fucking great artist.

Has anyone seen Julius Schnorr Von Carolsfelds painting called "The Seventh Seal"? If so, do you know if Watain themselves inverted the painting for "Casus Luciferi" or did JSVC make that painting as well?

EDIT:
