Parallel between metallica and IF

Parallels between metallica and IF:

-both bands release three original full-lengths that kick ass but don't get much attention
-on their 4th original full length they get some measure of genre credibility
-5th original full length is more mainstream but still awesome
-6 and 7th are much worse

Hopefully, this doesn't mean IF's next album will be a peice of dog shit in a jewel case.

By my count thats eight, considering LS and Sub are two different ep's that were later released together. So technically STYE was IF 's ST ANGER. So whatever comes next will be something completely different. Do the Math.
Hell If you get really techy about it The Garage days Ep could be counted. Then that would give Metallica 9. Dont say it doesnt count because its an Ep because then you cant count LUNAR TRAIN or SUB. Semanitcs are a bitch my friend.

Actually I don't count Subterranean as a full length, and there's little you can say to change my mind about that. 5 IF-length songs making up 21 minutes do not a full length make (Subterranean), whereas any idiot can see that Lunar Strain is a full length.

My problem was in regards to the lameness of the insult '.............wanker', if I'm going to be insulted, I like people to be more creative and/or funny than that. Rude? Huh? When? HAHA okay. You are right If is still releasing stuff people can actually listen too. And Met hasnt doen that in years. STYE may have not been great but still beats the hell outta St Anger.

Damn right. The last truly good Metallica album was in 1988 - 17 years ago!!! Before IF was even a gleam in young Jesper's eye. The Black Album I felt had a few good songs, but too much filler. Load and Reload were totally forgettable. St Anger wasn't great, but it makes surprisingly good drinking music! STYE, which to me is easily IF's worst is better than anything Metallica have released in that 17 year span. 17 years... Wow I feel old.
