Very cool. Some of the best vocal performances I've ever heard have been on Broadway. It's amazing what some of these people are capable of.

From Zod's comments, sounds like I'll have to check this out when I get home. I've always been a huge fan of Broadway actors/actresses. I have way too many Michael Ball & Michael Crawford albums (along with Linda Eder, early Sarah Brightman, & more). Sadly I haven't been able to appreciate many musicals as of late.

I got the first video in an email from a co-worker this morning, in an odd coincidence. I was actually thinking about posting it here, but thankfully Glenn beat me to it (also because he found the second video.)

I hope this guy wins because it has to be one of the best success stories to come out in a long time. Yesterday, selling mobile phones; Tomorrow cutting an album/going on tour.

But overall. Bocelli is my favorite singer alive.

I saw the first video posted a day or two ago and had the same reaction that Glen mentioned above. One of my first comments to my wife was.....He is not quite Bocelli but he is good. It is cool to see as they said, someone very unassuming come out and do something like that. This guy will blow up based on tallent and the underdog appeal.

If you don't know Bocelli.......look into him.

I like the 180 of the judges in the first one from when he says he's going to sing opera to when he belts out his first notes. They were expecting it to be absolute crap.
