pcp/ip

meh

that sounds gay

osi layers are general and applicable to any network protocol/application... it's not like TCP/IP necessarily even has anything to do with "internet" (i.e. you can run a self contained LAN with TCP/IP) so what's up with that layer

Internet is short for Internetwork.

Network access is the physical wire and the hardware address and related crap. (physical and datalink from OSI)

Internet is short for Internetwork, it's not meaning "the internet", it's meaning internetworks. It's the internetwork address(IP address) and related crap.
(OSI layer 3)

Transport is TCP, RDP, UDP and RTP
(OSI Layer 4)

Application layer is everything else, problems here just mean it's upper layer firewall problems on a PIX box or else its your servers.

It's just a simplified version of OSI for TCP/IP networks.

I know this shit cause it's what I'm trained to work with :p

hey hey hey you can't toke/inject/freebase/sniff/enema the osi layers so keep the fuck out of this thread kthx

thanks for the feedback y'all

1.5 years? I thought youtube was less than a year old! Either way, these guys are set for life. Funny how youtube hasn't even turned a profit yet.
