PEARL JAM has confirmed that its first new studio album in nearly five years is on its way. A song called "Can't Deny Me" from the upcoming disc was first released as a surprise early download to active members of the band's fan club over the weekend and has since been made available for purchase at PearlJam.com and via all digital stores and streaming services. "Can't Deny Me" was co-produced by the band and longtime collaborator Brendan O'Brien and was recorded in Seattle in February. The music for the track was written by guitarist Mike McCready and lyrics by singer Eddie Vedder. Artwork for the single was created by bassist Jeff Ament and videographer Kevin Shuss. The song appears to take direct aim at President Donald Trump — albeit without mentioning his name. Additional song credits: Jeff Ament - Bass Matt Cameron - Drums, Percussion Stone Gossard - Guitar Mike McCready - Guitar, Percussion, Typewriter Eddie Vedder - Vocals, Guitar PEARL JAM kicks off a South American tour later this week. They also have shows scheduled for Europe and North America in the coming months. Vedder had previously called out Trump during the singer's solo performances over the last year, including taking a knee in solidarity with former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
