PEARL JAM has reached an exclusive worldwide publishing agreement with Universal Music Publishing Group, it was announced by UMPG chairman/CEO Jody Gerson. UMPG will represent the band's entire catalog including newly written material, along with Eddie Vedder's solo works. PEARL JAM has sold over 60 million albums globally and five of their albums have reached the top of The Billlboard 200. Their most recent album, "Lightning Bolt", was released on their own Monkeywrench Records label through UMG worldwide. As a solo artist, lead singer Vedder has also released two widely acclaimed solo albums, "Into The Wild" and "Ukulele Songs". Said Gerson: "It's been almost 25 years since PEARL JAM busted the door open of the 'club' that hosts a very exclusive group of artists. All they have done throughout their career is inspire and influence their fans throughout the world with incredible songs and a multitude of worthy causes. We are delighted that they have entrusted us with their amazing catalog and couldn't be more excited to be a part of their evolving career that will endure for decades to come." Added PEARL JAM manager Kelly Curtis: "I'm thrilled to finally have a great partner that I can entrust with the legacy of the PEARL JAM and Eddie Vedder catalogs. I'm excited for what lies ahead with UMPG." On the heels of their hugely successful 2015 Latin American tour, PEARL JAM will tour arenas and stadiums in North America through August, featuring headlining gigs at Bonnaroo and the New Orleans Jazz Festival.
