With the recent tax discussions here, I thought that I'd offer a little advice for you guys that are self-employed in the music business. PAY YOUR TAXES!!! It can't be stressed enough. Today marks the official end to my three year ordeal with the California Franchise Tax Board and the $14k that I owed them. Besides destroying my credit, they froze my accounts 5 or 6 times and always at the most inopportune moments. Lucky for me, my wife has a 700 credit score (thanks to me because she hasn't had a job since '99). We received a $800 check today in the mail from the State of California, which verifies that this is finally over. 
Now, all I gotta do is get the IRS off my back. $70k down to $5k so far....almost there!
