Right now I'd have to say the way people write on the internet. I don't demand absolutely perfect grammar and spelling (a standard I myself fall short of quite frequently) but I just had to browse through the comment section on the Pirate Bay for help getting a torrent running and some of the stuff I read there just made me want to buy a rifle and climb a bell tower. I know a lot of people online are not native English speakers but even so that doesn't excuse abbreviations like "u," "thnx," etc. It's not like a chat conversation where speed is important - you have all the time in the world to say "PLZ SEED U MOTHERFUKKER."
