Anyone else a fan of his stuff? Really awesome jazz.

This has to be my favorite song on the CD.

I've listened to some John Zorn, in addition to his album titled "Naked City". Is that one with his band? And how does his band compare to his stuff?

Yeah the self-titled is their first album. I only mentioned them because I got a slightly Naked City vibe from that clip you posted. Radio is another great Naked City album. Not too sure what Zorn's solo stuff is like as I've only heard a few tracks here and there.

They're somewhat related. I got Peter Thomas, from the Gallery of Essentials page on Web of Mimicry, Trey Spruance's record label. And since Trey and Zorn are friends, wouldn't be surprised that Zorn has heard some of that.

I think I like Naked City better than Zorn's solo stuff, which tends to get a bit too experimental for me sometimes, although seeing him live was truly amazing. Naked City had always been my favorite album of his, and since I now know thats his old band, definitely check more of them out.

Ah, ok cool. Yeah I'll have to check out the Peter Thomas album.

I'd love to see him (or Naked City) live. I need to get some more Naked City myself, I only have Radio and the self-titled.

He owns a small place in New York called "The Stone" and plays there all the time. Really small but awesome, no talking at all during the performance, and I was literally 2 feet away from the drummer. Such a great time.
