good morning dear people
I run into a phrase that I just Had to share with you!! If you any other wizdom phrases, please share :)

Remember the ark was built by amateurs and the titanic was built by professionals

I'm not sure if these would count as wisdom phrases but here goes:

"The only way to overcome temptation, is to wield to it"
Oscar WildeWe are each our own devil, and we make this world our hell.
The Duchess of Padua

People who count their chickens before they are hatched, act very wisely, because chickens run about so absurdly that it is impossible to count them accurately.
Letter from Paris, dated May 1900

Life is much too important a thing ever to talk seriously about it.
Vera, of The Nihilists

Oscar Wilde

"There are two things that blacken the human soul: speaking when you must stay silent, and staying silent when you must speak." -Sadi

"The wise is the one who gets amazed at everything." -André Gide

"We are the consequence of that we think." - Siddharta Gautama

Deni

I'm taking these directly from my calendar :)

"From the moment we cease trying to swim upstream and begin to flow with the current, something changes within us." - Arthur Sokoloff

"When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world." - John Muir

I'm actually really excited about it! How could it be bad? It's like LotR - its based on an such an amazing book, it HAS o be good.

As for my contribution, it might be from a song, but I like it:

"When a man lies, he murders some part of the world.
These are the pale deaths which men miscall their lives.
All this I cannot bear to witness any longer.
Cannot the kingdom of salvation take me home?"

-The mighty Cliff Burton.

"And who needs words with stars up in the sky?"

(taken from the novel "Chapaev i Pustota" aka "Buddha's Little Finger" aka "Clay Machine-Gun " by the russian writer Victor Pelevin)

Whoa... Respect Morticia... I love the poem on your sig... It's a very good one...

Anyway here is the wisdom I respect the most:

"When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced... Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice" - Cherokee saying

"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
-Lord Acton

and of course, you may find it lame, but these are the wisest of all:

"You shall not steal" - 8th commandment
"You shall not murder" - 6th commandment
"You shall not commit adultery" - 7th commandment

How's that for wisdom?

When it comes to wisdom, you simply cannot step to the Bible. So here are some of my favorite Bible verses. Enjoy!

"Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil" Matthew 6:34

"Do not conform yourself to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect." Romans 12:2

"Now you are Christ's body, and individually parts of it." 1 Corinthians 12:27

"Love never fails. If there are prophesies, they will be brought to nothing; if tongues, they will cease; if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing." 1 Corinthians 13:8

"Know this, my dear brothers: everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, for the wrath of a man does not accomplish the riteousness of God." James 1:19,20

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away." Revelation 21:4

God Bless,

SpritMindSoul, that quote reminded me, for some reason, of something I read by Sean Sellers. He was a murderer and devoted satanist who became an evangelist on death row, and I think he's exceedingly bright. So here's his quote:

Satan is NOT the opposite of God. That’s the most fundamental error in theology. Satan is not darkness, while God is light. Darkness is simply the absence of light. Satan is less than that. Satan is the obstacle between humanity and God. Take a flashlight, shine its light on a wall, take your hand and cover the end of the flashlight. The light is God. The darkness is the absence of God. The hand is Satan. The hand does not destroy the light, it simply keeps us from seeing it. The light still shines, it’s just hidden or distorted from our view.

God Bless,
