PHSYCADELLIC

Psycedelic Music rules, Shpongle, Hallucinogen, Ott, Pink Floyd, Tool, I'm more into my modern Psy trance and Ambient, although old Psycedelic rock is great too :) Shpongle would have to be my favourite.
"And we can take this huge universe and put it inside a very tiny head, and fold it"

The connection of the word "psychedelia" with music, is rather strange. Originally it was used to describe bands like Jefferson Airplane, Love, H.P. Lovecraft, early Pink Floyd and then it was used to describe anything that sounded "space-y" or "tripp-y". So i basically like much that can be described as "psychedelic" except from trance crap, with the 4 bands i mentioned being my some of my favourites.

Phish, Dead, Floyd, some Ween can be considered psychedelic, JGB.
Not much into jambands, but I did see the Dead a couple times and Phish almost 90 times. If you're into that old school stuff, check out the movie Festival Express. It's a cool thing, a bunch of bands took a train across Canada and played all the time in the cabs, then I think 5 shows outside of the train. Janis, Dead, the Band, etc. I'd recommend it.

I love Frank Zappa and Pink Floyd (early and later stuff). Linda Perhacs could be considered psychadelic in some aspect. Other than that, I haven't really dived into the genre much.

With regard to Frank Zappa : Do you know that he is French? I did not know. And, I saw the poster of him today somewhere underground or else.

Anyway, he will have a concert in Zenith of Paris in May, I think, this year.

I copied when I was young, to start with after smoke on the water and Red Z (Stairway to Heaven). Now I play Clapton and other soft stuffs 'cause my ears are explosed since some years ago. It was an accident...

Pink Floyd is very good, I think this band does interpretation of psychadelic world after the theories of Sigmund Freud and any others.
