Does Steve play with a pick or fingers?? I just realized i've never seen him live or pictures of him playing!

Fingers! One of the best moments ever for me at a show was at the Testament showin late '99 at the Galaxy theater in Santa Ana, Calif. when Steve broke out a massive, extended bass solo. I love fretless basses!

I use both, pizzicato and plectrum.

But I think I'm developing better dexterity with a pick. It helps to try different thincknesses.
Back when I played upright string bass, it was the same. I could use a bow, but of course when I learned how to get a loud sound out of it I stuck with fingers. That was a different century though...
