Longest waterfall in the world: Salto de Yucumã, Rio Uruguay, in the border with Argentina. (1,8 km long)

Highest waterfall in Brasil: Véu de Noiva (Parque Nacional Aparados da Serra). 720 meters high. It falls from the top of the Itaimbezinho canyon.

Waterfall of Tigre Preto (Black Tiger) seen from top (falls in 3 steps, the tallest with 250 meters, in a total of 400 meters)

Caracol Waterfall, in Canela. (120 meters tall)

Herval Waterfall, in Santa Maria do Herval (130 meters tall)

only the Caracol waterfall as far as I know... it appears on the brazilian movie O Quatrilho, which is a love story set during the colonization of the area by italians in the late 19th century.

The Iguazu Waterfalls (2 times taller than Niagara and some 4 times wider) do appear on the movie The Mission, with Robert DeNiro, which is about the Jesuits Missions in south america in the 16th or 17th century.

But Iguazu is located at Parana state, north of mine (my state is the southernmost state in Brasil, bordering Uruguay and Argentina)
