Please let me know what you think!

I really want to have some feedback guys!! The overall production is poor, there are some buzz, unwanted rings and fret noises here there, the vocals have a good amount of shitty bathroom reverb (and deserve some tuning) and the playing is not tight at all sometimes ... I feel quite uninspired if you ask me and I don't know if I'll get something at least decent :/ So what would you fix on this attempt? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/36870048/PMT2.mp3

The snare is really sterile and seems to be exactly the same hit throughout. It also lacks bass guitar. Otherwise the drums and guitars sound pretty clean.

The drums are bad though, i barely hear any toms and the overheads are far too back in the mix.

I had a quick glance through the previous thread and it appears you're trying to polish a turd. I would request not to be named on this mix or use a pseudo name so you can at least get the money :D

I have just remixed my bands old demo (I wasn't in this band at the time). It required triggering from a live kit , some melodyne work on the vocals and editing here and there. Most of my mix focus was on preparation over anything else. If you aren't being paid to do that and they won't take care of it then you're fucked tbh.

Don't put your name to crap else it will make you seem incompetent.

Thanks for listening man. I tried to get not so machine sounding drums but I cannot do more with these progs I'm afraid. Will bring the toms and oh up and see. The bass is really fucked up that's why I put it in the back. Guitars and drums too clean maybe?

The guitars really need some more body but any boost sounds boomy, say around 400Hz. I tried to work in this range on the bass but it did not work well. Apart from that, I feel there's is a "sub area" issue in the bass/kick. Removing anything there makes the whole shit sound even more thinner than it already is. I honestly feel quite stuck. Too much sub, not enough beef and high end quite harsh are usually how my mixes sound and any attempt to fix that miserably fails. Maybe my ears betray me or I simply suck at mixing! :ill:

The vocals could use a low pass at 8k theyre really bright (the verse sounds much brighter and louder than the chorus??), the hihat is like 3 dbs too loud, and the snare could use a room sample, other than that I like it. I love the toms! What did you use? eq/comp?

i think it doesn't sound to bad apart from the bass (or lack of it) but just listening on headphones here. i dont know how many songs you need to work on but i would just programm the bass with zombass or fts bass and not tell the band ;)
the guitars sound quite good imo.
i would maybe bring in an additional snare sample that has a bit of ring, underneath the drumtrack. if your using multivelocity drumsamples like in slates trigger the feel could get a bit more organic even if the source material doesn't change the velocity.

but what does the band say?
if they are happy with the mixes why bother?

good luck!

Thanks to you both for the comments. I'm very surprised that it does not sound like pure shit to you. It's quite heartwarming ahah! I have a serious problem with my guitar tones in general. I don't like them at all without actually being able to do something I like more. Will not program the bass but it would be an possibility in absolute terms. Will follow your advices.
