PLEONEXIA (Italy) have signed a worldwide deal with PURE UNDERGROUND RECORDS, a sublabel of PURE STEEL RECORDS!

The Pleonexia are a ‘Philosophic metal’ band from Turin, they play a mix of 1980s hard rock and heavy metal with marked epic influences and with lyrics that encompass philosophical subjects.

The release date of the PLEONEXIA album "Break All Chains" is January 17th, 2014. The preorder phase will start on January 3rd, 2014 in our webshop.

We are proud to present a brand-new band on our sub-label Pure Underground Records, PLEONEXIA, which was founded in Turin/Italy in 2012. The sextet describes their music as “philosophical metal”; but you could also say that it is an interesting and fascinating mixture of classic Heavy Metal, some epic influences and a small dose of earthy, honest Hard Rock.
The ten songs on the debut album “Break All Chains” all convince with discreet keyboard/synthesizer passages, clear but powerful vocals by frontman Michele Da Pila, virtuosic, partly double guitar leads and a precise drumming, without sounding in the least dull or uninspired. Sing-along-compatible, sometimes almost anthem-like choruses, a driving double bass and some slightly progressive or quieter parts can all be found on this album.
“Break All Chains” really holds the promise of its name. This long-player features lots of delightful elements of traditional Heavy Metal as a matter of course!

Definitely one of the best hidden treasures in worldwide Heavy Metal is PLEONEXIA. Their new album "VIRTUTE E CANOSCENZA" has an italian title but the lyrics are in english language. Finally, we don't take care about this because the music is deciding.

If you like the great italian tradition of melodic Heavy Metal with totally unique melodies and ADRAMELCH, DEATH SS, DARK QUARTERER and VANADIUM are no unknown secrets for you, PLEONEXIA will be another must have! The first album was great, but this second one is even better. Fantastic unique songs with a powerful production should convince you fast. Thumbs up for a superbe band!
