Im finding that when I record my pod via usb into nuendo that the recorded tone sounds different then the one im monitoring through the headphone jack. Any ideas as too why???

as far as i know this is an impedance issue. but nothing dramatic...i like the sound from the headphone output more than the sound of the line out...

i'd say that it's a settings thing. Does it sound more fizzy and fake/plasticy from the line out?

it is. its not like the usb output doesn't have cabinet modeling and the headphone out does. For the most part the 2 outputs sound the same but the usb output has a shrillness to it that the headphone out doesnt have

I have the same issue.. especially the chorus widens the stereo image much more through the headpones plugged in directly into the POD XT.. i have patches that sound great through the cans directly into the POD XT, that sound like shit when i direct it through USB or line output into a PC/neundo/cubase.
I always record the spdif outs of the pod. If your soundcard has spdif try those. I never heard a difference there but maybe I am a little deaf
As I said...its an impedance issue. if you record through the headphone out, you have more bottom end and less fizz in your signal.
thanks guys, Ill try the headphone out next time i have a chance i just dont have any decent way of getting 1/4in into my computer.
