Pop-punk (Paramore/ Getaway Plan) Check it out :)

The music is pretty cool - girls voice isn't at all to my taste but the songwriting isn't bad.

Can't say I'm too into the mix, for one reason; it sounds like a metal guy did it. Guitars have too much gain, drums are too thin/top-endy, very sparse on vocal layering/harmonies - all common things I see when guys who are primarily metalheads delve into pop-punk. Not a knock on you, at all, but something I've noticed time and time again. Would I be safe in saying you're not much into pop-punk?

Thanks for that Jeff! Actually, I do like pop punk :p
However... THIS song is a bit of a one off :p

The rest ofthe songs are all hardcore/ pop punk. Kind of like a day to remember and 4 year strong! I was going for something along the lines of Four year strong - Homesick I think it is :p otherwise the mix would be a lot different. But thanks for your input, because I don't disagree at all in the context of the song! This song will be on an ep full of that other stuff, but for the sake of it also bein a single when it's out, I think it would be best to do a 'radio' mix for it as well!

Agree with Jeff, its a bit upper mid heavy and not enough creamy low mids. Also your lead guitar in the centre is a bit too prominent in volume and presence and the vocal needs tuning/more accompaniment/pocketed in the mix a bit more (female vocals are difficult I will give you that). Bass could use limiting a bit harder as well cos its sticking out a bit heavily in places.

Thanks again guys! I probably won't implement the changes, because.. As I said. It's a demo that isn't being released.
But it gives me some ideas for when we do the ep, so thanks!

Honestly, I'm confident in those changes etc, BUT... Those damn vocals. I struggle so hard. Any suggestions on how to have them sit a little neater and nested. They always seem to poke out too much and feel a little disjointed from the mix :/
