Hardline Media announces, direct from the USA, the mighty Possessed will be headlining four shows in Australia on their “40th Anniversary Seven Churches Tour” in October 2025, taking in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne (Halloween night) and Canberra.

Noted for their fast style of playing and Jeff Becerra’s growled vocals, Possessed are often called the first band in the Death Metal genre, who paved the way for the 1980s Bay Area Thrash Metal scene, along with Metallica, Exodus, Testament and Death Angel. The band is also notable for featuring future Primus member Larry LaLonde, who was the guitarist for Possessed from 1984 to 1987, during their most famed era.
Known for their two groundbreaking albums, Seven Churches (1985), Beyond The Gates (1986), and their EP The Eyes Of Horror (1987), Possessed have always been known as one of the most important bands from the original death/thrash metal scene. After a long hiatus, the band returned on Nuclear Blast with Revelations Of Oblivion (2019).
