Post NEARfest

Financially speaking the festival went fine. Because of the economy I expected it to be a bit of a down year. I pretty much hit my predicted sales figure on the head so I was satisfied.

On the personal side, Nearfest was a disaster for me. When I arrived I walked into the venue and mentioned to one of my slaves that if I felt this good the whole weekend I would be happy. Unfortunately things slid downhill quickly. By the end of the evening my leg blew up - my foot, ankle, and knee swelled tremendously. It seriously affected my comfort level and my ability to sit in the theater seats. To cap it off, we went out for dinner. When I tried to get out of the car, the inside door handle broke off in my hands!!! This was a real omen.

I was unable to watch any bands on Saturday - I couldn't make the walk from the vendor room to my seat. Standing/sitting/standing/sitting in the vendor room on Saturday took its toll. By Saturday night I was in really bad shape. By Sunday morning the swelling subsided slightly. I was determined to see some music so I checked out Quantum Fantay (who I enjoyed very much). That was the last band I saw. The swelling increased again, limiting my mobility. On Monday I kept my leg elevated and iced it like crazy. This morning the swelling is decreased somewhat in my knee and ankle but my foot still looks like a stuffed porkchop. More ice is in order and I hope that in the next day or two it will begin to resemble a foot again.

Sorry I can't give you the musical blow by blow. Lots of that going on at the Progressive Ears forum.

In the meantime we are catching up with orders from last week....

Sorry to hear about your experience Ken. Did you try at least the mexican food?

Knee injuries are a bitch...I've had 3 surgeries on my knees but I still don't feel 100%. The last one was almost 2 yrs ago. I just started jogging and running but man....fucking difficult and still a little bit of pain.
