Power Theory announces that Bassist Jason Tete has departed the band. Jason has been replaced by Jay Pekala (Colossus, Last Rites).
“Jason has expressed his desire to establish himself fully with his custom guitar and bass building business, J-Bone Customs, he has been very honorable with the whole situation and played out all the shows that were booked until after our opening slot for Holy Grail and Cauldron at the Trocadero Theater on May 3rd. ” Quotes Bob “BB” Ballinger
“We have been rehearsing and writing new material with Jay Pekala since Jason expressed his desire to leave.” “Jay and I are former band mates, and we were the principle songwriters for the first line-up of Colossus, so the compatibility factor already existed.”
“We will always be grateful to Jason and consider him a brother and member of the Power Theory Family” added Dave Santini, “ In fact he’s is building a custom axe for BB right now, and Jay P. plans on a custom bass as well, we will remain endorsed user’s by his company.”
The band has written 4 additional new songs with Jay Pekala for the forthcoming follow up full length cd, “An Axe to Grind”, as recording sessions are under way at 1021 Studios in Tullytown, PA. “We had already decided to take a small break from mid May to mid June to work on recording prior to our June 25th show at Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ. So everything has worked out well for us” said Santini.
