This may not be the case with you Matt, but has anyone else noticed how a lot of people who don't read often have quite an unreasonable hostility towards it?

I just see it as unnecessary merchandise. They release so many fucking dvds, instructional dvds, live albums. its a fucking joke.

I don't mind books - it's the old "if you don't want to read it, don't buy it" kinda thing.

My problem is how he needs interest from 2000 people to print an "official" biography. That just bugs me.

Sounds to me like he either went to a publisher/agent and got knocked back and is trying to publish it regardless, or he wants to maintain complete control over it. Either way, it's a big gamble. I'm sure there'd be way more than 2000 people who would be interested in a decent book about Dream Theater but I'm really not sure how many of them would pay $95 for one. That's a ridiculous amount of money. And that's just for the book. Imagine what the shipping would cost.
