Anyone remember Yngwie Malmsteen before he went solo? I was listening to my Japanese version of the original Alcatrazz - No Parole from Rock 'N' Roll yesterday and I was pretty amazed at how well that album has stood the test of time. Then, while in the process of moving residences, I stumbled upon my old cassette of Yngwie's first band, Steeler, with Ron Keel on vocals.

Gawd, those albums bring back lots of memories for me.

Never heard Steeler. Of course I do have some Alcatrazz with Yngwie, he was pretty good since the start and way before his ego inflated him to his actual size :D

Being said that, I have all Yngwie albums and most probably I'll get the next one too.

I am rarely one that bashes bands because they wouldn't be there if no one liked them, but Steeler was terrible. Ron Keel has to be one of the most God aweful vocalists EVER !! I bought it, but I can't tolerate Ron's voice long enough to play half of a song.

Alcatrazz, No parole was a great record. There was a really cool song on that album....i havent heard the album in a long time i think it was .."to drunk to live, to young to die"??. That year i played that record a lot and the LIVE Sentence record was also really cool... a couple of Rainbow tunes on that one. Only have these on Vinyl so its been about 15 years since i heard them

Well, I wouldn't say he's the worst vocalist ever, but I remember I used to call him a "broken air raid siren" back in the days. He's certainly not my fave vocalist, but some of those Steeler songs were pretty cool.

You were close, Fred! It's Too Young to Die, Too Drunk To Live. Great song indeed. I love that whole album, one of my five-star classics.

He just rubs me the wrong way. I literally grind my teeth listening to him. I should sell or give the cd away because I can't listen to it. I also have "Remedy Lane" from PoS and I won't ever listen to it either. Maybe I should have a CD sale. :erk:

I don't know how are you doing with storage space, but my advice is that if you NEVER hear the albums (because you can stand them) then sell them. I have done it many times in the past and never regret it.
Better yet, go to a use store and find something that appeals you more and trade them or get some credit for those.
